IN A DARK ROOM:
The books were surrounded by an unusual gloom,
An old library, I assumed.
The books were placed silently on the floor.
I knew what the books were there for.
I walked cautiously towards the piles that covered the floor,
The unusual cool breeze broke straight into my core.
As I bent down to the book that was the first one I saw,
A sudden crush of paper was someone wanting more.
CRUMPLED PAPER:
It lay under the oblivious girl’s feet,
It wanted to be awakened so that someone could see its pure heart,
People would walk past it thinking it was just a sheet,
Little did they know it was being torn apart.
It second guessed itself and would never believe that someone would open it,
It caused itself to become overwhelmed and feel unnecessary pain,
Everyone would tell him ‘believe in yourself, just a bit.’
Its belief started to turn from light to dark and slowly started to drain.
It lost its heart and had lost its soul,
It was continuously disheartened and continuously chained,
It was chained to a dark, black, barking pole,
I saw it sink lower and lower, crumpled and strained,
No one ever deserves to feel this pain.
EL AGUA:
The tide was rolling in, it reached out to touch my tingling toes,
It was a long piece of shiny white silk that covered me from top to bottom,
The water was a cold gust of wind that hit me and I froze,
Splash, slap, snap – it was hitting me, as if scared of being forgotten.
It was as if the seaweed had swallowed me up like a huge whale, I was its prey,
Swish, swosh, clap – I was taken in and I was never going to find a way out,
It was a washing machine and all I could see was grey,
It was like I was on a cliff calling, just trying to find a way out.
THE MUSIC BURNS:
Paper burns on his face,
But the music only makes it worse,
There’s no oil, no match, no string, no trace,
No proof of the deadly curse.
As it ignites more and more,
The man shouts with pain and regret,
As the fire creeps from the man to the floor,
The heat has no room for his death just yet.
The room started to go up in flames,
And the man lay there still full of thought,
But there was nothing that could fight the pain.
POEM POSTS - OCTOBER:
THE MASK THAT COVERS ME:
The mask that covers me,
Is the mask of black,
It covers me from head to knee,
I'm suffocated and there's no looking back.
I see a tiny hint of light,
It's too far away to reach,
But it doesn't feel right,
To be continuing my speech,
I continued to fall,
But there was no hard concrete bottom,
There's nothing to see but a stonewall,
Finally I reach the floor almost forgotten,
The tiny crack of light get brighter,
I'm so blinded I can't see,
The bag is getting tighter and tighter,
The mask that once covered my body
Is now unravelled and broken in front of me,
It was the mask that once covered me.
Is the mask of black,
It covers me from head to knee,
I'm suffocated and there's no looking back.
I see a tiny hint of light,
It's too far away to reach,
But it doesn't feel right,
To be continuing my speech,
I continued to fall,
But there was no hard concrete bottom,
There's nothing to see but a stonewall,
Finally I reach the floor almost forgotten,
The tiny crack of light get brighter,
I'm so blinded I can't see,
The bag is getting tighter and tighter,
The mask that once covered my body
Is now unravelled and broken in front of me,
It was the mask that once covered me.
SCARED & STUCK:
It hangs over you like a dark cloud,
It doesn't want to move because it knows that it has you in the palm of its hand,
It's angry and loud,
BANG! You realise that everything is going to plan.
It reaches out to grab you in its wet, slippery hands,
2000 lightning bolts come flashing towards you,
It's hanging on to you like a tooth on one tiny strand,
You're frozen, stuck like glue.
LOST:
It comes up from nowhere,
It comes to take your love away,
Its eyes have a bright evil flare,
It's only left one colour-
Grey.
The love of your life has passed,
It's been snatched away and it hurts,
It's happened all too fast,
And it still lurks.
You run as fast as your legs can take you,
You watch the small drops on your face trickle to the floor,
You're so cold your feet turn blue,
The eyes you can't see feel red and sore.
You remember the past,
But it seems so far away,
It happened all so fast,
You run and leave it astray.
It comes to take your love away,
Its eyes have a bright evil flare,
It's only left one colour-
Grey.
The love of your life has passed,
It's been snatched away and it hurts,
It's happened all too fast,
And it still lurks.
You run as fast as your legs can take you,
You watch the small drops on your face trickle to the floor,
You're so cold your feet turn blue,
The eyes you can't see feel red and sore.
You remember the past,
But it seems so far away,
It happened all so fast,
You run and leave it astray.
DIVE:
Love is something you can't explain,
It comes and goes and will never wait,
You can love someone and it could be taken straight away,
Dive right in.
Love can make you heart beat,
And it makes it faster,
But it's something that you can't play with,
Dive right in.
If you really want to love,
You have to be committed,
It may take time,
So dive right in.
It comes and goes and will never wait,
You can love someone and it could be taken straight away,
Dive right in.
Love can make you heart beat,
And it makes it faster,
But it's something that you can't play with,
Dive right in.
If you really want to love,
You have to be committed,
It may take time,
So dive right in.
WHAT LOVE IS:
It hangs over you,
And protects you from hatred,
It makes you feel warm,
It makes you feel snug,
Making you affectionate,
Love is important.
And protects you from hatred,
It makes you feel warm,
It makes you feel snug,
Making you affectionate,
Love is important.
A ROSE FOR HER:
A rose for her,
It makes her feel special,
It makes her feel like someone-
Who matters in life.
She's had a rough start,
And she's got a long way to go,
Just give her a chance,
A rose for her.
What makes a girl feel special,
There are many things,
I can't list them all, but just give her-
Love.
A certain warmth will grow inside of her,
It will make her feel happy and bright,
And will make you feel content,
A rose for her.
It makes her feel special,
It makes her feel like someone-
Who matters in life.
She's had a rough start,
And she's got a long way to go,
Just give her a chance,
A rose for her.
What makes a girl feel special,
There are many things,
I can't list them all, but just give her-
Love.
A certain warmth will grow inside of her,
It will make her feel happy and bright,
And will make you feel content,
A rose for her.
SECRETS:
Secrets are kept for reasons,
But sometimes it hurts to keep them,
Especially to your loved ones,
So you just give up.
You see the discomfort on their face,
It makes you feel that you could lose them,
Your heart breaks into pieces because you loved them too much-
To keep it any longer.
